The Promise of Blessing, Revelation 1:1-3

September 20, 2009 Speaker: Dr. David Silvernail Series: The King’s Triumphant Return - A Series in Revelation

Topic: Sermons Passage: Revelation 1:1–1:3

Pastor Dave continues his new series on The Book of Revelation.  One of the key truths we get right up front with this book is found in Revelation 1:3, "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near."

This is the only book of Holy Scripture with a blessing to those who read it aloud, who hear it read, and who keep the words of this prophecy.  This is extremely important.  The Book of Revelation may have its challenges because it is apocalyptic literature, filled with all sorts of strange images and symbols, but it holds a blessing for those who read aloud, hear and keep the words of this prophecy.

Therefore, for all these reasons, it is important for us to try to do just that - read. hear, and keep the words of this book.
