Any time there’s a major change in our lives we tend to get nervous. A new job, new school, new home, new location, new boss, etc, etc. and it all brings out an unsettled feeling. Change is inevitable, but it’s also uncomfortable. One of the reasons change is uncomfortable is because it upsets something in which we find security. And that’s really the topic for this coming Sunday. Where do you find security? Perhaps you place your security in your marriage or family? Perhaps its all about the finances? Maybe for you its more about emotional security?
Our passage for this week, Hebrews 6:13-20, is written for those of us who don’t feel as secure as we’d like to. And yet, God says we have all the security we need. He has given us a great promise and if we really understood what that promise was, then we wouldn’t worry about our security nearly so much or so often. So just what is this great promise? And how can we find security in a promise? Well, those are the questions we’ll be wrestling with this Sunday. I hope to see you there! Dr. Dave
