Moses Meets the Lord (Exodus 2:23-3:12)

September 27, 2015 Speaker: Dr. David Silvernail Series: Exodus - The Glory of the Lord

Topic: Sermons Passage: Exodus 2:23– 3:12

Well, this week we’re continuing our series on the Book of Exodus which I’ve called “The Glory of the Lord.” This Sunday we hit a famous passage, Exodus 2:23-3:12, which is the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. This is what we call a direct revelation from God to Moses. So let me ask — How would you respond if God suddenly appeared to you in a burning bush? You think that might be a life-changing encounter? Probably so! And yet it’s not the miraculous sight of a burning bush that changes Moses’ life, it’s the revelation of God, the revelation by God, and the revelation about God. Revelation is what happens when something is revealed. And here God reveals to Moses several things that he needed to know (and, very much, several things that we need to know too)! What are those things? Well, you’ll have to come this Sunday to find out.

The well-known British Scientist and Theologian Alister McGrath writes, “The Exodus tells our story. Each of us has a personal journey to make, from our own Egypt to our promised land. We were in Egypt. We were delivered from bondage. We are in the wilderness, on our way to the promised land. The story of Exodus involves us – because it is about us.” I will keep praying that God uses this journey through Exodus in each of your lives! See you Sunday, Dr. Dave
